Review: The PillSuite System

I have been given this product as part of a product review through the Chronic Illness Bloggers network. Although the product was a gift, all opinions in this review remain my own and I was in now way influenced by the company.

Hello Everyone, I was very fortunate to be selected to do a product review.  I wasn’t sure what to expect and I was terribly worried that I would not like the product and I would have to work at trying to find something positive to say……thank goodness that was not the case.

When I signed onto do a product review for the PIllSuite System, I wasn’t entirely sure that it would be useful to me.  Although I am an MS patient, I don’t take a whole bunch of medications.  So using the PillSuite System seemed over kill to me. But I wanted to give the product a fair chance and honest review, so this is what I have learned after traveling with the packets and using the system at home.

PillSuite offers the precision and adherence benefits of blister packaging with the flexibility of instantly modifying your regimen based on any prescription or vitamin needs. From vacation and travel to taking pills at lunch or on the go; PillSuite allows you to sort, seal, and carry a simple packet of exactly what you need. Exactly when you need it.

With the PillSuite System everything you need comes together.  They provide you with 400 packets, a pill separator, and a packet sealer.  There is a color fold out that shows you exactly what you have to do.

I was heading out of town for work for 5 days, so I chose to use it during my trip.  I sorted out all my pills for AM and PM and placed them into the little pill sorter.  The first time I tried opening the pill sorter it was a little tricky to get the lid off, but once I took it on and off a couple times, it was much easier to fill the pill separator with my PM meds.

Before I filled each little packet, I wrote AM or PM on them.  The only thing I noticed is that it is kind of hard to determine which side to write on.  But you can easily resolve this by pulling one open and inspecting it.  I wasn’t that smart….I filled out all my packets flat, so I ended up writing on the wrong side. This made it harder to read, so make sure you write on the correct side.

The pill sorter made it very easy to fill the little packets.  It did take me about 30 minutes to fill 10 packets, but I was also reading the directions and running it through its paces.  The directions where very clear and I liked that they provided pictures with their instructions.

Once I got all the little packets filled I used their little sealer to close them.  If you have ever used a seal-a-meal, then you will know how to use this, it is just smaller.  It only took maybe 2-3 seconds to seal each one of the 10 little packets I did.  Of course I had to try opening at least one of them.  Make sure you grab the pills when you are holding the packet, they can actually fly out if you just rip it open.  I always experience things the hard way……:-)

Although I don’t have a lot of medications to take, I do have medications that I can’t forget to take.  With having to take doses in the morning and doses in the afternoon, I always find that I forget one or the other.  This is not good for a person dealing with MS.

The PillSuite System enables me to sort out all my AM medications and all my PM medications.  My AM medication packets I take upstairs with me and put them in my nightstand.  this way I can take them right when I wake up.  My PM medications I leave downstairs.

After using the PillSuite System for a couple weeks, I find that I am taking my morning medications more regularly and not forgetting them.  When I traveled the little packets were all in my backpack, so my pill bottles didn’t take up any space.  And most importantly, especially these days, the price is very reasonable.  The refill packets are very reasonably priced too.

I would definitely recommend this to anyone that has to take a couple rounds of medications each day.  This is really great for people that travel a lot as well.
