“I have been given this product as part of a product review through the Chronic Illness Bloggers network. Although the product was a gift, all opinions in this review remain my own and I was in no way influenced by the company. “
As someone that suffers from chronic pain, I was chomping at the bit to try this thing out. I never have liked taking pain meds. And when I learned the physics behind it, I was even more excited. Ok, busted, I am a bit of a science geek. You wouldn’t want to be a fly on my wall Saturday nights……
Oska is a wearable pain-relief remedy developed to reduce muscle stiffness and inflammation, help ease chronic pain and increase mobility through its proprietary eTec technology. It optimizes pulsed electromagnetic fields (PEMF), allowing people to live a more active, pain-free lifestyle. It’s small (the size of a cell phone and just as light), portable, drug free and has no side effects. To ensure the finest quality control, it’s made in the USA.
No Vibrating, No Zinging, No Electrodes
When I received it and turned it on for the first time, it looked like something you would find on the set of Star Trek. It fit in my hand and it had a mysterious pulsing glow to it. No vibration, no sound….the only indication that it was working is the light pulsing and when I wore it for a full cycle, the area would be warm.
Because I deal with chronic pain, I am always looking for different products on the market that can help alleviate my symptoms. Non-addictive and natural are two things I always look for in products that I want to try out and Oska Pulse accomplishes both of these.
It was recommend that I wear it a minimum of 2 cycles a day, but 4 would be better. They had even said I could potentially wear it all day without any issues. I am not very good at just doing the minimum. I wear it for 4 cycles per area depending on my levels of pain during the day.
My upper and lower back was the area I was most interested in testing the Oska Pulse on. I have a long history of scoliosis with several spinal fusion in my lumbar spine and my cervical spine. I didn’t just limit myself to those areas. I did try it on my left knee and my left shoulder.
After taking the time to really wear the Oska Pulse and taking notes on its effects on my pain levels, I feel that I has contributed to a reduction in my level of pain. In addition I do feel that the amount of stiffness I have also has been reduced.
One thing that I feel is important to note from what I noticed when wearing the Oska Pulse is that for me it was very effective on acute pain. I experienced this with some really bad knee pain and also the shoulder area. Each time I sat down and took it easy for about an hour while wearing the Oska Pulse. After that hour, I was completely pain free. I have not had quite that level of relief when it comes to my areas of chronic pain.
Although I am not noticing the quick changes with my chronic pain as I am my acute pain, I do strongly feel that over this past couple of months that I have had this device it has made a difference. I feel that if I continue to wear the Oska Pulse regularly, my areas of chronic pain will start to diminish. I say this because I have noticed a change in my physical abilities. I am moving more, I am braving my stairs more. I am more apt to get up and do that errand that requires a lot of walking.
For me, even if a product does not have an instantaneous effect, I look at the long term changes. How much more am I getting up, how much more and I being physically active. When it is a slow process, I look for the long term results. This was confirmed today during my physical therapy appointment. My therapist commented on my walking and says that is markedly improved since the last time I was there. That was about 2 months ago.
This is an amazing product. I feel everyone needs to have one or at least be able to try one for a while. It really has made a difference in my overall pain levels without the side effects of addictive drugs (always a plus!).
